What are the most important drawing skills?

Posted by J-Bar004 - June 25th, 2022

I have always been interested in cartoons and the history of it which is why I have joined onto NewGrounds for it's divine history, culture and treasured talent making history of their own without any hesitation.

Everyday, I always make sure to check NewGrounds for what new gifts has been brought onto this site and when I see that art I always think 'How did they do it?' Where do they come up with those ideas?' and 'What did they learn first and did they teach themselves?'

let me know you think is an important skill to learn when drawing and character designing. -I hope everyone is having a good day :)

dude, there is one thing more important than the skills, i call it "what you want to achieve with your art?" Many of us artists, specially the skilled ones wants to profit from the art. So, we achieve a certain level of skill and then try to sell our art. I do animations, character design, voice acting, production, etc, etc, some people think it's impressive. I have my weaknesses like perspective. I didn't develop much the perspective skill since for what i do i dont use it much. The peppa pig drawings doesn't require much skills, but the dudes from peppa sure are profiting from it.

That is some good advice and a good point and I appreciate that. I also do character design (Not professionally) and I wanted to hear about how people get so talented. Thank you so so much for your advice! I wish you a fantastic day! :D

@J-Bar004 You're welcome. Also, being good at drawing is like being good at music, with a lot of practice and patience. I'm digitally drawing since 2015 and i ain't a "wooow he is so good at drawing"

I have started drawing digitally this year and I started with a mouse and now I have a tablet and now I feel more confident :D Also, I have just had a look at your content and I like it :)

@J-Bar004 Cool, homie, thanks, glad you liked it. I'm from brazil, i started drawing with a mouse, when i got a job and money to buy the tablet (around 2019) i was already so used to draw with mouse that i didn't want to use tablet. Even to today i draw with a mouse. Nice to meet you

It's a pleasure to meet you too, I'm from the Uk and I hope you get a job that you enjoy.
